This ECU does not replace fully the Challenger4+ in the range of our ECUs

It is specific for 4-cylinder aspirated engines (throttle/rpm only)

It has a very attractive housing for the complete kit

Its main characteristics are

-         Based on a very power full microprocessor for astonishing accelerations

-         Semi sequential injection

-         Lost spark ignition

-         Very effective self-learning of the injection time map (on option for non-professional licenses)

-         2 engine tunings selectionable while engine is running (multimapping) by switch at vehicle board

-         3 launch limiters selectionable by rotator at the vehicle board

-         Race limiter without jolts

-         3 fully programmable auxiliary outputs (rpm and temperature relay, three-state rpm relay, advanced programmation Commander type, )

-         Sequential gearbox with cutoff time from gear position and engine rpm, with go back slope to normal advance at gearshift end (bang at gearshift end))

CHALLENGER5 ECU SOFTWARE

The Challenger5 is an engine management ECU with a very high computing power.
It is specifically made for racing atmospheric 1, 2 or 4-cylinder engines.


 

FEATURES

Chal5_ENU-1.1.0.0.zip is the first software pack for the management of the new Challenger5 ECUs.

Injection:
Self learning of the injection time base map (needs a professionnal license, or on option with a special Tuneware for standard licenses).

Multimapping:
a multimapping switch allows two engine tunings. The tuning switching is allowed while engine is running.

Launch limiter:
3 launch limiters, selectable by a rotary switch on the vehicle board, allow to get the best adaptation to the road grip.

Sequential gearbox:
Slope to go back to normal ignition advance at the end of gear shifting, (bang on gear shift end).

NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENT

Improvement of sequential gearbox management:
Optimization of the gear upshift time (faster upshifting).
Ignition cutoff at gear downshift (faster downshifting on strong breakings of the vehicle).
Possibility to select the old way of shifting on slower or less precise gearboxes.
The ECU agrees to intervene on the engine even if the gear position measurement is in error.
Read carefully new documentation for sequential gearboxes.

Significant improvement of the engine startup security (From V210)
In the previous versions, during difficult conditions of engine start-up, the microprocessor could the capacity to perform its measurements (throttle, pressures, temperatures, ...), causing an engine stalling.
This version prevents the loss of the measurements even in case of battery tension drop down at the engine start.

Improvement of quality and robustness of the injection command (From V200):
When engine speed instabilities of a sufficient level (due to vibrations or else) happened, versions previous to version 200 may one or more injections, up to making thinking to a small limiter.
The new versions never any injection (nor ignition) whichever is the engine operation.

Documentations in English:
Challenger5 tuning software pack: 20 separate documents, each for one specific fonction of the ECU, with many didactic examples (new - 04th 12/2018)
Challenger5 installation: V1.13 - with commands of ignition modules (23rd 06/2015)
Challenger5 options installation: V1.10 - sequential gearboxes, air electrovalves, ... (21st 12/2011)

Nota:
Does not contain Winjall software. Winjall must first be downloaded and installed apart.
Does not containt the sensors convertion maps nor the actuators command maps. These maps have to be downloaded and installed apart with the pack SensAct.
